Seventh C-Store Forum facilitates industry discussion
The OpenRoom team closed the doors on another C-Store Forum on Tuesday 16th May in the South of Spain.
This year’s event for the convenience retail market took place at The Don Carlos, Marbella, attracting a strong group of UK&I convenience retailers and suppliers.
Leading figures came together to trade opinions and ideas on contemporary issues facing all stakeholders in the industry; culminating in a panel discussion on topics including the living wage, dotcom business, and social media. Chaired by James Pearce (BBC presenter and broadcaster), the panel consisted of Ian Taylor (SPAR), Kash Khera (SimplyFresh), Kev Widdrington (Costcutter, htec), Paul Courtney (M&O Trading), and Simon Hannah (J W Filshill).
Delegates conducted over 500 meetings over the two days, as well as many informal encounters taking place in the South of Spain. “We are in full flight closing out the next steps from the meetings – they were a great way to facilitate introductions,” said Michael Twohig, Head of Store Development Operations, Musgrave Retail.
Wayne Swallow, of Platinum Partners htec, delivered a seminar titled ‘Can Technology Save You Time & Make You Money?’ TLM Technologies also sponsored the event as Silver Partners.
This was the seventh forum for the UK&I convenience retail market facilitated by the London-based firm, OpenRoom Events.
OpenRoom will now focus on their next event for the fuel retail industry; heading to Abu Dhabi for this year’s PetroForum MENA (25-26 September).
