Sheetz enhances EV charging network with new capabilities

U.S. convenience retailer to launch its own charging platform to enhance customer experience.

Sheetz is taking a major step forward in its electric vehicle (EV) strategy with the launch of its own charging solution, aimed at offering drivers a more seamless, reliable, and rewarding experience.

Sheetz already operates more than 125 EV charging stations across seven states through third-party providers. By bringing charging operations in-house, the retailer aims to deepen customer engagement and make EV charging an integral part of the chain’s ecosystem, complementing its fuel, food, and convenience offerings.

The initiative leverages advanced EV charging and energy management software from Driivz, a Vontier company, to scale and optimize the retailer’s rapidly growing network.

“Providing a convenient and rewarding experience for every customer is core to who we are,” said Trevor Walter, EVP of Petroleum Supply Management at Sheetz. “EV drivers already choose our stores because of the amenities and services we provide. This partnership allows us to build on that trust — making charging a seamless extension of the Sheetz experience, while delivering the same consistency and value customers expect each time they visit.”

By integrating EV charging into its broader operations, the company aims to deliver a consistent, connected experience for drivers while supporting the shift toward more sustainable transportation.

The new system will allow Sheetz to monitor charger performance in real time, ensuring stability and availability across its network. Drivers will be able to access charging directly through the Sheetz mobile app, with loyalty rewards, digital receipts, and real-time session updates integrated into a single platform.
