Shell Deutschland has reached an agreement with Schaltbau Holding AG on the full acquisition of SBRS, one of the top providers of charging infrastructure solutions for commercial electric vehicles. This acquisition will enable the oil company to strengthen its leading position in e-bus charging solutions and grow faster in the European market for e-truck solutions as well as in other segments.

SBRS is headquartered in Dinslaken and offers complete solutions for integrated e-charging infrastructure from planning, implementation to operation and associated software tools. The firm’s current customers include municipalities as well as public transport operators, vehicle manufacturers and key corporate partners in cities such as Cologne, Vienna or Brussels.

"The technology needed to decarbonize commercial vehicles has matured significantly in recent years, and the electrification of fleets through e-trucks and e-vans has become a key solution for many of our business customers. With the acquisition of SBRS, Shell's business customers can look forward to fully integrated charging solutions to electrify and decarbonize their fleets - from fleet depot charging solutions to charging point management and clean energy supply," said Felix Faber, CEO of Deutsche Shell Holding GmbH.

Shell in Germany is expanding its portfolio of low-CO2 energies and solutions, including charging stations for electric vehicles, hydrogen, renewable energies and biofuels. With this, the company aims to help households, businesses and the public sector reduce their emissions by switching to lower- or zero-CO2 alternatives.
