Shell returns to Colombia’s fuel market through Biomax

The company has plans to have a network of 250 Shell-branded sites in the future.

Shell is back in Colombian market after Biomax, a wholesale distributor, has reached an agreement to be a licensee for the brand.

The company reported that its operation will start with three service stations located in Bogota.

The long-term expansion plan by Biomax is to reach 250 stations nationwide.

"We are focused on providing Colombians with a unique experience through a differentiated value proposition, based on high service standards and improved efficiencies, with a world-class fuel such as Shell V-Power," said Andrés Escobar in representation of Biomax.

Present in 80 countries with 46,000 service stations and approximately 30 million daily customers Shell is the world's largest fuel supplier.

Ana Duque, Shell's president in Colombia, highlighted that this is part of the company's strategy to consolidate its portfolio in the country.
