Solar energy could meet California demand up to five times over requirements
Solar energy could meet the energy needs not just of vehicles but of all the State of California up to five times over requirements and the solar panels could be best placed not in deserts but within urban areas where the energy is needed, according to an academic publication by Carnegie’s Rebecca Hernandez.
Hernandez, a researcher now with the University of California at Berkeley, said that “integrating solar facilities into the urban and suburban environment” would work best, according to information recently obtained in a press release distribution service.
Parking spaces, degraded lands and other such sites could start to be used.
California has legal requirements in place both to give incentives to renewable fuel and to reduce greenhouse emissions.
