Spain: BP expands its gas station network in Madrid
The British oil company has acquired 15 gas stations from the Comillas 2 Group, located in Madrid and its surroundings.
The British oil company BP recently bought the petrol stations run by Grupo Comillas 2 located in Madrid and surroundings, reports El Confidencial. The stations acquired are of great value for their high volume of fuel sales and the good performance of additional services.
According to El Confidencial, this is not BP's only inorganic purchase of gas stations in recent years. In October 2018, the company took over 65 gas stations owned by the JZ International and Avenue Capital funds within the specialized Kingbook Capital Socimi and Petrocorner Retail.
On both occasions, a large part of the stations acquired were operating under the flag of BP itself.
BP is not the only large oil company that is strengthening its assets in the retail fuel sector in Spain. Cepsa bought Pietro Group's petrol station network in mid-2019.
