Spain: Disa acquires 30 gas stations, becomes fourth biggest retailer
Spanish fuel retailer Disa becomes fourth largest player after acquiring 30 gas stations.
Canary Islands-based Disa has increased its fuelling network by acquiring 30 service stations from the Group Gesa. The sites are located in the Spanish Peninsula and make Disa the fourth biggest retailer in Spain.
The recently acquired sites will be incorporated over the next few months and will operate under the Shell flag, as Disa is a licensee of the brand in Spain.
By the end of the year Disa will operate 588 sites spread across the whole of Spain, consolidating its place as the largest independent operator, and fourth biggest player only behind Repsol, Cepsa and BP, according to the Spanish Association of Petroleum Product Operators (AOP in its Spanish acronym).
Those 286 service stations workers employed by Group Gesa will be incorporated to Disa, which has doubled its workforce in the last decade of company growth.
