Spain: Endesa rolls out first EV fast charging points in Andamur sites
These are the first of six similar facilities at Andamur sites in Spain that will also have a fast and semi-fast charging infrastructure.
The first Endesa X fast charging points at Andamur service stations are now operational. The first two “Energy Islands” to go live in line with the agreement signed for electric mobility between the two companies, are located in Andamur service areas in San Román (Álava) and Ciudad del Transporte in Pamplona (Navarre).
Both have fast charging points with a power of 50 kW, which can charge an electric vehicle in minutes: batteries charge to 80% capacity in 15 to 20 minutes. These are universal charging points that charge both with direct current (CCS Combo, CHAdeMO) and alternating current (Mennekes) and they therefore can be used for all electric vehicles now on the market.
“The first 2,000 public access charging points will be operational by the end of the year. By that time we will have installed a 15,000-km network of charging points on Spain’s main roads so vehicles are always within 100 km of a charging point, the key to unrestricted movement in our country," said Elena Bernárdez, head of electric mobility at Endesa.
"Installing Endesa fast charging points in these service stations is a new milestone that coincides with Andamur's vision. Our company’s commitment to innovation and the environment has been one of the pillars of our strategy in recent years,” explained Andalmur CEO, Miguel Ángel López.
All these newly commissioned charging points are connected to the Endesa digital platform and can be used using the new Endesa X mobile app, Juice Pass. Drivers who prefer not to register can still use the charging points by going to the updated charging point map and paying by credit card.
