SPAR to launch 130 stores at Texaco stations in the Netherlands
SPAR is set to roll out 130 SPAR Express format at all Texaco petrol stations in the Netherlands following an agreement between the Dutch retailer and EG Group, the operator of Texaco service stations, and the success of a pilot partnership in 2017.
Under the agreement, two Texaco stores will be converted into SPAR Express format every week to complete the rebranding by mid-2019.
SPAR Express stores along highways will mainly offer Food-to-Go and bakery items, while stores near residential areas will provide a wider choice of everyday groceries.
“With this partnership, SPAR’s store numbers are growing by at least 130, which will increase the visibility and awareness of the SPAR brand in the country,” Sjaak Kranendonk, former Managing Director of SPAR Netherlands.
