‘Terrorizer of gas stations’ arrested in Prague after five armed robberies

A man dubbed ‘terrorizer of gas stations’, suspected of five armed robberies at service stations in the last four months in the city of Prague, has been arrested by a police robbery task force, reported the Prague Post.

The alleged criminal is responsible for four armed robberies during the months of March and April, and one other near the end of June, all of which were perpetrated in Prague 9 - a municipal district of the Czech capital. 

In their online report, the police task force dubbed the 20-year-old suspect ‘terrorizer of gas stations’. If convicted, the alleged thief would be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.

The suspect had a replica gun with him when he was arrested – the same one used on the previous four stings. Police discovered the other replica gun wielded during the first robbery at the bottom of a pond in the city.

In three of the robberies between March and April the suspect had taken an estimated total of CZK 160,000 (USD 6,524), while his last attempt at the end of June saw him escape empty-handed.

The man arrested was easily linked to the previous cases due to the clothes he wore, which fitted the same characteristics CCTV footage revealed from the other robberies.
