TravelCenters of America acquires c-store network in Kentucky
TravelCenters of America continues their expansion plans with the latest acquisition of 21 Thoroughbred Energy-branded c-stores in Kentucky from Traxx Cos.
Apart from the completed acquisition, CSP Daily News has reported that TA is waiting to buy an additional 13 c-stores upon agreeing final conditions.
TA has started to operate some of the acquired sites, and expects the 34 c-stores, which average more than 3,100 square feet in size, to be rebranded as Minit Mart. The sites will also undergo developments and improvements.
“The decision to exit the industry was a tough one for the Thoroughbred team. The founders, our fourth partner and attorney Mr. Ronald Tritschler, and all our great employees poured their lives into this company for nearly three decades. The relationships found and fostered will remain,” said Jay Hall, president and CEO of Thoroughbred Energy.
Thoroughbred Energy LLC will be exiting the convenience store market after the sale of the 34 stores is completed.
