TravelCenters of America (TA) is rolling out self-service kiosks at its Popeyes restaurants, part of a broader initiative to enhance the dining experience for customers on the road.

By September 1, kiosks will be available at 45 Popeyes locations, including 13 pole-mounted and 32 countertop units. The company plans to extend the program to 66 restaurants by the end of 2025, a move designed to improve both operational efficiency and customer satisfaction across TA’s network.

Early results from the initial countertop kiosk deployments have been encouraging, with adoption rates exceeding 70%. Customers using kiosks are also placing larger orders on average, driving higher sales and enabling staff to be redeployed to other restaurant tasks.

The technology is designed to be intuitive and accessible, even accommodating multiple language needs. Its integration with existing systems, including order-ahead options and My TA Rewards, further streamlines the process for frequent travelers.

TA also credited Tillster, its technology partner in the initiative, for contributing to the rollout’s early success. Feedback from TA groups has highlighted the value of the collaboration and the strong performance of the system to date.

Looking ahead, TA intends to continue expanding kiosk installations while refining the order-ahead experience. The company says the initiative reinforces its commitment to innovation and customer convenience, ensuring travelers can enjoy quicker, smoother dining experiences across its network.
