Trump win no effect on Total-Iran gas deal

Donald Trump’s election to United States presidency will not have any impact on the deal recently signed by Total with Iran, said Philippe Sauquet, president of Total’s Gas, Renewables & Power branch, in a Reuters report.

Total signed agreements with National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) on November 8 making the French oil giant the first western energy company to close a major deal with Tehran since the lifting of international sanctions earlier this year.

Trump once said that the Iran nuclear accord "the worst deal ever negotiated," but Sauquet insists that  the US election results do not change anything and “it was out of the question to do anything that would contravene international rules."
