TruStar Energy sets biogas strategy with new hire
TruStar Energy, developer of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fuelling stations in the United States, has hired fuel expert Juan Reina as Director of Biogas to set out the company’s strategy of supplying CNG sourced from biogas to customers.
Reina, a former TECO Peoples Gas expert, was responsible for the negotiation of gas transportation agreements with industrial, electric generation, and wholesale customers. He also developed, implemented, and managed two unique regulated utility service offerings for the development of CNG and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) infrastructure.
At TruStar Energy, Reina will be tasked primarily with sourcing and delivering RNG for the company’s growing customer base. He will work closely with Fortistar, TruStar Energy’s parent company, Senior Vice President Dave Unger, who was hired earlier this year to help develop an RNG supply chain, and will also be assisting in other TruStar Energy business development activities, including new fuel station development.
“Juan Reina’s extensive experience in negotiating gas transportation agreements and project development will be a tremendous asset in our move to offer customers RNG to meet their fuelling and sustainability needs,” said Adam Comora, President of TruStar Energy.
Comora noted that RNG enhances the benefits offered by natural gas in terms of economic returns and sustainability.
An 85% growth in RNG gas production facilities has been seen in the US and Canada since 2014, according to a research from The Coalition for Renewable Natural Gas.
