Turkey’s Petrol Ofisi launches free EV charging station

Turkish fuel products distribution and lubricants company, Petrol Ofisi, has opened its first electric vehicle (EV) charging station in the Gebze district of the northwestern Turkish province of Kocaeli, reports Daily Sabah.

Branded as e-POwer station, it will provide free electric charging for the first three months and increase its number to 10 by the end of the year.

The charging stations will be located at 150-200 kilometer range and will provide enough power supply for an uninterrupted journey between Istanbul-Ankara and Istanbul-İzmir.

Voltrun, a subsidiary of Zebra Electronics, designed and developed the charging infrastructure for Petrol Ofisi.
