UAE: ADNOC Xpress set to decongest fuel stations
The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has launched its first two Xpress stations in a bid to address overcrowding at existing service stations.
The Al Maqta station, located near the Abu Dhabi Federal Court of First Instance on Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street, and Al Shurooq station in Abu Dhabi’s Shakhbout City were the first two to be inaugurated.
Eight more Xpress stations are planned to be built in 2017 including two stations in Mohammed Bin Zayed City, and one station each in Shakhbout City, Khalifa City, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Street, King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Street, Delma Street, and Al Falah Street.
An Xpress station, set to service the most congested areas of Abu Dhabi and its suburbs, is built to maximize speed and convenience. It features one island with two or three dispensers that offer only two fuel varieties – Special 95 and E-Plus 91.
ADNOC, with a network of more than 336 stations in the United Arab Emirates, also plans to open 25 new service stations this year.
