Uganda: Vivo Energy promotes road safety in TV campaign

Vivo Energy Uganda has launched a TV campaign to improve safety on the roads.

Vivo Energy Uganda, the Shell marketer in Uganda, has launched a new road safety campaign dubbed TWEDEKO - Every life matters, in partnership with NTV, a subsidiary of Nation Media Group, with an aim to use TV as a vehicle to educate and inspire people to change their behaviour on the road.

Twedeko is a Luganda word for “let us reconsider our ways” or “let us change our ways”. The campaign will run for one year using testimonials, pledges, road safety tips and TV talk shows. It will be driven by TV and supported by social media.

“Over the years, we have gained some great learnings about road safety that we are eager to share with the public; together with partners like NTV, the National Road Safety Council and the traffic police.” Mr. Hans Paulsen, Managing Director, Vivo Energy Uganda said at the unveiling ceremony.

The Twedeko campaign has identified responsible citizens who, through their testimonies and pledges, will challenge viewers about their behaviour on the road.

Vivo Energy Uganda has a fuels storage capacity of 17,500 m³ and 137 service stations, with many offering Shell Cards and convenience retail stores.
