US: Yesway appoints CTO
Des Moines, Iowa-based convenience store chain BW Gas & Convenience, doing business as Yesway, has named Douglas New as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
New previously served as Chief Information Officer (CIO) at at Tedeschi Food Shops, Inc., where he developed technology strategy and oversaw all IT-related activities and support services for 181 stores and 2,300 employees, stated a company release.
He will be in charge of mapping and implementing Yesway's technology strategy including the c-store chain’s e-commerce platform.
"I will count on Douglas to be Yesway's technology voice at the highest levels of business and product planning, and I, along with the rest of our senior management team, will rely on his insights and recommendations on technology feasibility, staffing, processes and other technology-related decisions as we continue our expansion in the coming years," said Thomas Nicholas Trkla, Yesway's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
New will report directly to Mark Daniels, the firm’s Chief Strategy Officer.
