USA: Clean Energy signs RNG supply agreement with Amazon
The fuel will be provided at 27 existing Clean Energy sites and another 19 non-exclusive new or upgraded Clean Energy-owned stations to be launched by the end of 2021.
Clean Energy Fuels Corp has signed an agreement with Amazon to provide low and negative carbon renewable natural gas (RNG) at fueling stations, according to a company’s press release.
The fuel will be provided at 27 existing Clean Energy fueling stations and another 19 non-exclusive new or upgraded Clean Energy-owned stations that Clean Energy expects to be constructed by the end of the year. The new and existing stations will provide RNG in 15 different states.
Separately, Clean Energy has issued to Amazon warrants to buy up to 53.14 million shares of common stock, with the first tranche of 13.28 million warrant shares vested in connection with the fuel supply agreement.
Clean Energy was the first to commercially make RNG available as a vehicle fuel in 2013. The company operates a network of 565 CNG and LNG fueling stations across the U.S. and Canada.
