Vietnam: Hanoi wants more car wash to curb air pollution

Installing more car wash at service stations will help combat air pollution in Hanoi, according to a proposal by Hanoi's Industry and Trade Department.

The Department wants trucks carrying construction materials to be cleaned before entering the city to prevent them from bringing dust.

An anti-air pollution measure like this is needed as concentration of pollutants reached beyond the permitted levels, reports VietnamPlus.

Iin line with this, the government is looking into 67 service stations, which have an area of more than 900 square meters each, the size necessary to offer car wash services.

The stations also have to be located on national highways or roads going to the city centre.
