Virši to expand and redevelop Latvian service station network
The retailer will invest almost €6 million to open new locations as well as upgrade existing ones across the country.
Fuel retailer AS Virši-A has plans to expand and modernize its service station network in Latvia. Plans include the construction of a new site in Olaine, the refurbishment of three locations in Riga and Zīlāni, as well as the development of two new Virši franchise stations in Preiļi and Krāslava.
Last year, Virši expanded its network with five new service stations, reaching a total network of 70 outlets across the country. Taking into account the daily habits of drivers and the development of road infrastructure, the firm aims to expand its reach via new builds and acquisitions as well as upgrading facilities.
“Our development strategy includes not only the acquisition of new and convenient locations for drivers, but also the modernisation of existing service stations to provide the services our customers love in modern and functional premises. The Company's strategic goal is to have at least 80 service stations in the network by the end of 2024, which is what we are purposefully moving towards,” said Jānis Vība, chairman of the Virši Board.
Virši has been operating in Latvia for 28 years and currently operates a network of 71 service stations across the country with over 760 employees.
