Vivo Energy Kenya unveils 350th Shell station in Nakuru Milestone
The station forms part of Vivo Energy's broader strategy to grow its downstream presence in Kenya.
Vivo Energy Kenya has opened its 350th Shell-branded service station in the country, marking a significant expansion milestone in its national retail network. The new outlet, Shell Basic 58, was launched in Nakuru, becoming the 11th Shell station in the town as the company deepens its footprint in key commercial hubs, reports Citizen Digital.
The station forms part of Vivo Energy's broader strategy to grow its downstream presence in Kenya while positioning outlets as multi-service convenience destinations rather than standalone fuel points. Nakuru, one of Kenya's fastest-growing urban centres, is expected to see rising demand from motorists and local businesses served by the new site.
"The launch of this service station symbolises our enduring commitment to Kenya's growth story. Each new location strengthens our presence across this vibrant country, creating jobs and supporting local economies," said Vivo Energy Executive Vice President for Retail and Commercial Business Arnaud Guichard.
The site will host Quickmart Supermarket, a retail chain founded in Nakuru, with Goodlife Pharmacy, Chicken Inn and Pizza Inn set to open outlets there in the coming weeks. Vivo Energy Kenya Managing Director Peter Murungi said the development reflects the company's approach of partnering with local businesses to build integrated retail hubs.
The expansion comes as oil marketing companies across the region increasingly compete by broadening their retail networks and converting fuel stations into diversified service and retail destinations.
