YPF adds stock trading to its app

Users can now buy and sell YPF shares directly through the company’s app, expanding the platform’s financial services ecosystem and opening access to new investors.

YPF has launched a new feature that allows users to buy and sell the company’s shares directly through its proprietary app. The service is available during market hours and is designed to simplify access to capital markets for millions of users already using the app for payments and other financial transactions.

The launch follows YPF’s recent stock split on August 4, which divided each share into ten new shares and proportionally reduced the price per share. According to the company, the move was intended to make the company’s stock more accessible to a broader range of investors.

The new functionality is being rolled out through a partnership with Santander, which manages user funds within the energy company’s app and supports the integration of additional financial services. The feature builds on existing capabilities that allow users to earn returns on account balances.

With the addition of stock trading, App YPF now combines funding, balance management and investment services within a single platform. The application already supports fuel payments, money transfers, bill payments and mobile top-ups, making it one of the company's main digital channels.

YPF said the initiative is part of its strategy to expand the capabilities of its digital ecosystem and bring investment opportunities closer to everyday users.
