Arko moves toward solar integration across store network

Agreement with Apollo Power outlines plans to evaluate flexible solar systems at more than 300 ARKO-operated sites nationwide.

Arko Corp. has entered into a strategic partnership with Israeli solar technology company Apollo Power to explore the deployment of solar energy systems across U.S.-based subsidiary GPM Investments stores.

Apollo Power has been granted a 60-day exclusivity period to advance project development while the parties work to finalize binding agreements. Under the proposed terms, GPM will assess the installation of Apollo’s lightweight, flexible solar solutions at 300 locations in the United States.

The potential turnkey project has an estimated value of approximately $53 million and would be rolled out over several years.

Arko CEO Arie Kotler said the technology could help strengthen the company’s asset base. “Apollo Power’s technology gives us an opportunity to reduce electricity expenses at many of our locations and enhance the overall performance of our assets,” he said. “This collaboration is about making our properties stronger, more efficient, and better positioned for the future.”

For Apollo Power, the initiative represents a significant step into the U.S. fuel retail market. Arko operates or supplies fuel to more than 3,500 convenience stores, gas stations, and fleet fueling sites across more than 30 states, offering broad potential for wider adoption of the company’s technology.
