Australia: Ampol, Woolworths open first MetroGo c-store
The 31 convenience stores launched by Ampol and Woolworths Metro will be rebranded as MetroGo.
Last week the first Ampol Woolworths MetroGo store opened in Wamberal (Australia) marking an important step in the partnership between both brands.
Ampol Woolworths MetroGo stores feature a range tailored for the local area looking to top-up on their groceries, along with fresh, quality food they can eat now, on the go, or grab for later.
“MetroGo is dedicated to providing ultra convenience to our customers, and our partnership with Ampol has helped millions of Australians top up their tanks and easily access last minute ingredients for dinner, healthy snacks, and fresh food,” said Michelle White, Woolworths General Manager - Metro Partnerships.
Woolworths’ Metro brand is specifically formulated to support the unique customer missions within the convenience and petrol retail environments.
“This is an exciting new step in our strategy to deliver convenient solutions for our customers who are on-the-go. Together with Woolworths, we’re setting a new standard of service, product quality and range within our channel,” said Jenny O’Regan, Ampol’s Chief Brand Officer.
Since the partnership launched in 2019, Ampol and Woolworths Metro have rolled out 31 stores across New South Wales and Victoria, with 19 new locations planned by the end of 2022. The brand transition to MetroGo will be completed over the coming months.
