Australian motoring group offers fuel discounts at Puma, Matilda, Choice stations
The Royal Automobile Club of Queensland (RACQ) for the first time in its 117-year history is offering its members fuel discounts at independent petrol stations in Australia, reports The Courier Mail.
RACQ’s more than 1.6 million members will receive a four percent discount at Puma, Matilda, and Choice stations.
The move is part of the motoring group’s campaign for cheaper fuel prices and more competition from independent petrol stations in a local market dominated by oil and supermarket giants.
RACQ is also behind the successful lobbying for a state regulation that will require petrol stations to display fuel base prices instead of discounted prices. The regulation will take effect from January 31.
