Belgium’s Dats 24 to install 50 new CNG stations

Belgium’s Dats 24 will install 50 new compressed natural gas (CNG) stations between now and 2018, the company said in a press release in January.

« The objective of Dats 24 is to stimulate the CNG market by proposing a network of stations large enough so that it can become a real alternative, » to traditional fuels but drivers need to have confidence the fuel will be available where they need it, the company statement said.

Dats 24 is promoting the fuel as a cheaper and cleaner alternative, the report said.

According to the company’s website Dats stands for Discount Automatic Tanking Service. As many as 70% of the stores are located within or right next to a Colruyt Group store.

Dats 24 is also said to be a pioneer in Belgium in the sale of CNG. According to recent information by the company, it is close to reaching 150 locations.
