Chevron to open 8 new gas stations in Malaysia
Chevron Malaysia, marketer of the Caltex brand, has announced plans to open a minimum of eight new gas stations in the country this year.
Shasid Ahmed, the Country Chairman, told the Malaysian news agency Bernama that the company had opened eight sites last year and that they continued with the expansion to drive business growth.
While at the launching of the new “Clean and Glide” (C&G) technology, Ahmed also discussed how the company is adapting to fluctuating global oil prices, according to MalayMailOnline.
“We have been doing a lot of cost cutting, reorganisation and optimisation to ensure a sustainable long-term organisation. We are also looking always at the short and long-term timeframes to see what else can be done to optimise the business,” said Ahmed.
Currently, there are 420 Caltex gas stations in Peninsular Malaysia, of which 90 percent are operated by private operators.
