Copec launches digital wallet service
The new “Copec Pay” tool lets drivers not only pay for fuels or products at the c-store but also transfer money to other users of the company’s app.
Copec announced the launch of "Copec Pay", a new feature that allows users to manage their funds and perform various transactions through the company's app.
Drivers can now pay when refueling, make purchases at Pronto and Punto stores, and transfer money to other users. All this will be possible thanks to a renewed app that will be renamed from "Muevo" to "Copec".
The subsidiary is the first fuel distributor and energy marketer in the country to enter the financial industry. This was possible thanks to having been authorized to operate as a prepaid card issuer by the Financial Market Commission of Chile in December 2022.
"The digitalization of our services is part of Copec's transformation process, always focusing on our customers, who are the engine that inspires us and drives our management. Understanding people's needs to make their lives easier has allowed us to innovate and expand our service platforms," said Arturo Natho, General Manager of Copec.
In its second stage, Copec Pay will launch both digital and physical prepaid cards, which can be used to make purchases in any national and international commerce, thus extending its use beyond the payment of fuel and convenience stores.
