Dover Fueling Solutions: Legacy driven. Future focused
Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS) leaders at UNITI expo 2026 in Stuttgart discussed the company's vision for the connected forecourt. From heritage brands to next-generation payments and real-time data, here is what they had to say.
As the fuel and convenience industry navigates a period of profound transformation, Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS) used UNITI expo 2026 to showcase how its portfolio of brands and technologies is helping operators tackle the challenges of a multi-energy era, from smarter dispensing to real-time data intelligence.
Kurt Dillen, VP & GM, EMEA & SAL Regions, opened by reflecting on the company's decade-long journey as DFS, a milestone built on heritage brands including Fairbanks, Tokheim, and Wayne (among many others), with a combined history stretching back well over a century. Despite the noise around hydrogen and the rapid expansion of EV, Dillen expressed confidence that traditional fueling remains a durable business. "I'm convinced this industry will stay for the next decades," he said, pointing to the enduring role of convenience, retail, and a growing mix of energy hubs as the sector moves away from a purely fossil-fuel model.
In this multi-service hub reality, payments have increasingly central role as a driver of the customer experience. Peter Van Nauw, Sr. Director of Systems and Payment, spoke about the launch of DFS Crypto NOVA. “It’s a solution aimed at unifying the payment experience.” It brings together bank cards, fleet cards, loyalty, and promotions across every customer touch point, from the forecourt to the EV charger to the store.
Søren Powell-Holse, Senior Director of Sales for Europe, ANZ and Key Accounts, addressed the data challenge head-on, noting that while operators are sitting on more data than ever, the real problem is connectivity. Drawing on DFS's portfolio — from Tokheim OASE and omni-channel payment to wetstock solutions and forecourt devices — he described a company increasingly focused on joining those dots. AI, he acknowledged, will play a role, but the priority right now is helping customers act on what they already have. Data into personalized, loyalty-driving interactions. "Each customer wants to have that unique experience," he noted, "and that is becoming a strong value proposition."
DFS' presence at UNITI expo 2026 underlined its ambition to be more than a hardware provider, offering operators an end-to-end technology partner as the industry enters its most complex and consequential chapter yet.
