Engen launches “gateway” truck stop in South Africa

Engen has launched a new truck stop in northern South Africa as a “gateway” to the rest of the vast continent.

The new truck stop in Musina, Engen´s fourteenth in the country, will serve long-haul drivers who travel across the border into other parts of Africa, as the company saw a real need for convenient, safe and comfortable truck stops.

“Drivers can have a bite, refuel and use the rest areas, which offer ablution facilities, showers, and security fencing with controlled access. The Engen Diesel Card (EDC), which was not available prior to our take-over, is now also accessible,” Mike Stead, Engen Commercial Fuels Manager.

Plans are under way to expand the current site from a four-bay to a 10-bay refuelling forecourt, allowing for more traffic while offering easier access.

Engen´s new truck stop adds to their existing network of 1,047 gas stations across South Africa.
