First buses supplied for Fifa World Cup 2018 to run on CNG
Gaz Group, part of a Russian diversified industrial group, has supplied 49 semi-low floor Liaz CNG city buses to Samara within the framework of the city fleet upgrade before the FIFA World Cup 2018 and another 33 will be shipped by late March, the company said in a statement.
The buses have wider floor level entrances which better accommodate people using wheelchairs.
The company, which produced and supplied buses for the Sochi Olympic Games.
Buses are used to transport visitors during the events. These are the first to be used in the upgraded modern fleet prepared for the world cup of soccer.
The Russian government will invest heavily, especially in road infrastructure, as it prepares to host dozens of nations for the soccer games.
