Galp, IKEA create the largest private charging network in Portugal
The partnership covers the installation of 278 charging points in the car parks of IKEA shops across the country.
Galp and IKEA have joined forces to create the largest charging network for electric vehicles in Portugal. The agreement covers the installation of 278 Galp charging points in the car parks of IKEA stores in the country.
Chargers ranging from 7.4kW, 22kW and 60kW DC will also be available in private car parks for IKEA employees and delivery vans.
"Galp is the market leader in the supply of electric charging points in Portugal, with about 2,000 points already operational, and aims to reach 2025 with 10,000 points in the Iberian Peninsula. This is the response that the market demands, given the irreversible trend of electrification of mobility,” said Galp COO Teresa Abecasis.
"This partnership with Galp is aligned with IKEA's vision and our sustainability strategy, in creating a healthier and more sustainable everyday life for most people," said Ana Barbosa, head of sustainability at IKEA Portugal.
