Hydrogen innovation: powering the future with CaetanoBus
Hellonext and CaetanoBus, the world leader in airport bus transportation under the COBUS brand, have completed one of the most advanced hydrogen refueling stations (HRS) in Europe. Located at CaetanoBus’ industrial facilities in Ovar, northern Portugal, the €2 million station was designed to meet the daily operational needs of the manufacturer, ensuring the refueling of up to five hydrogen buses per day at 350 bar and supporting one of Europe’s most important hydrogen bus production operations.

The HRS features two flagship Hellonext technologies:
- CORE H2, a modular “plug & play” control system compatible with 350 and 700 bar, developed over three years and enhanced with remote connectivity and predictive maintenance.
- AXON H2, the only hydrogen dispenser on the market with an integrated digital interface, ensuring safe, intuitive and fully connected user interaction.
With more than 200 hydrogen vehicles already produced, CaetanoBus selected Hellonext’s solution for its robustness, reliability and safety; a direct reflection of the maturity of the engineering behind it. The installation ensures uninterrupted operations for one of Europe’s most advanced hydrogen mobility manufacturers and demonstrates how industry-ready hydrogen solutions are becoming a practical and scalable reality.

Scaling e-mobility: Hellonext powers Iberia’s largest EV charging hub
Hellonext is also advancing electric mobility at scale, supplying the charging equipment for the largest EV charging hub in the Iberian Peninsula, developed by Galp and BMW Group at Intu Xanadú in Madrid. Featuring 116 charging points, including 16 ultra-fast (180 kW) and 100 semi-fast (22 kW) units, the site delivers a total installed capacity of over 3.6 MW, enabling simultaneous fast charging without risk of saturation and serving more than 12 million annual visitors.
Located at one of Madrid’s busiest commercial destinations, the hub is engineered to deliver convenience, speed and reliability for thousands of EV users every day. Drivers can add 100 km of range in just six minutes with the ultra-fast chargers, placing the hub at the forefront of customer-centric, high-performance charging infrastructure.
The installation shows how advanced hardware, scalability and intelligent design come together to create infrastructure that is ready for the accelerating pace of electrification across Iberia. It also follows the growing expectations of EV drivers who rely on fast, seamless charging wherever they travel.
