Hellonext reveals GUARDiON, the EV charger where uptime fights back

Unveiled today at Power2Drive Europe in Munich, GUARDiON is Hellonext’s answer to the four most common threats to public charging, personified as Copperhead, Brute, Intruder and Corroder. Less vulnerability. Less downtime. More uptime.
Hellonext today revealed GUARDiON, its new EV charger purpose-built for demanding public charging environments, where uptime is critical and every failure has a direct business impact. The official unveiling took place earlier today at Power2Drive Europe 2026, Booth C 6.178, Messe München.
Public charging infrastructure fails for the same reasons, over and over. Cable theft. Rough use. Break-ins. Extreme weather. For CPOs and energy operators, these are not technical issues. They are business issues. Every hour offline means lost revenue. Every intervention raises operational costs. Every failure erodes user trust.
Hellonext gave those four threats names. Cable theft, Copperhead. Rough use, Brute. Break-ins, Intruder. Extreme weather, Corroder. Four e-villains, one platform built to defeat them: GUARDiON. This is The Fall of E-Villains.
The platform stands on three pillars: the highest level of protection against theft and external elements, a redesigned architecture for durability and improved user experience, and a reduced footprint with increased performance. Engineered outside-in, because protection drives performance.
GUARDiON Vs. Copperhead, the cable theft e-villain
The sale of stolen copper returns little to the thief, but the cost to a CPO is enormous: hours offline, replacements, interventions, lost revenue. GUARDiON’s cable system combines integrated cable management with 90° placeholders for more ergonomic handling of cables above 200A. A dedicated cable cut protection system, paired with a built-in sound alarm, provides active defence against the most common form of vandalism in public charging today.
GUARDiON Vs. Brute, the rough use and vandalism e-villain
Publicly available chargers are exposed and unprotected. People don’t always care for the asset, but CPOs do, because misuse means damage, cost and bad reviews. GUARDiON is built for hands that work and environments that don’t forgive: mechanical buttons for user-friendly operation in extreme weather, a centered, ADA-compliant interface, protected screen glass that resists daily wear, and a vertical LED charge-level indicator that communicates state at a glance.
GUARDiON Vs. Intruder, the break-in e-villain
Charging fraud and component theft are a reality of public networks, sometimes carried out by the very technicians who should be protecting the asset. GUARDiON’s protected cabinet architecture, with internal hinges, no visible screws and fewer access points, reads as one continuous, sealed piece. A single anti-vandal lock with an auditable locking system controls the only entry. A hidden antenna, integrated into the design, keeps communication strong without exposing a single hardware target.
GUARDiON Vs. Corroder, the extreme weather e-villain
Public charging is permanent exposure to the elements. Over an asset’s lifetime, chargers face heat, cold, rain and dust. Degradation is unavoidable. GUARDiON’s protected cabinet architecture is reinforced by replaceable side panels, front door and rear panel — a serviceable, future-proof platform that survives the field while keeping critical internal components shielded and operational.
Co-created with the industry
GUARDiON is the result of a long collaboration between Hellonext, its partners and its clients. The platform was designed and engineered by Hellonext, with continuous input from operators running real public networks in the field. Every design decision serves the same purpose: protection that drives performance.
“In public charging, performance is not only about power. It is about what keeps working. GUARDiON is our answer — engineered outside-in, with the partners and clients who know exactly what it takes to keep a station online.”
Hugo Rigor, General Manager at Hellonext and Head of Energy Transition at Petrotec Group
Safety built into every detail
Less vulnerability. Less downtime. More uptime. GUARDiON was designed to reduce exposure from the outside in. Its protected cabinet architecture limits vulnerable access points, shields critical components, and enables more controlled intervention — across the cabinet, the cable system and the user interface.
