Italian vehicle fuel consumption keeps weak recovery in February
Gasoline demand in Italy fell by 4.7% in February while demand for diesel was 2.4% higher compared with the previous year, a statement published March 12 by the country’s oil industry association Unione Petrolifera said.
In the first two months of 2014, the cumulative volume of gasoline and diesel, of about 4.7 million tonnes, was 0.5% higher (25,000 tonnes) compared with the previous years.
During the moth there was a year-on-year increase in the number of new registered vehicles of 13.2%. Vehicles running on diesel represented 56.4% of the total (it was 55.4% in February 2014), according to the information.
Demand in Italy to fuel vehicles in February 2015 was 2.3 million tonnes in which 1.7 million tonnes were diesel and the rest gasoline.
