Lawson c-stores to test Uber Eats deliveries in Tokyo

It will be the first time that a convenience store chain in Japan signs a partnership with Uber Eats for deliveries.

The test will begin at four directly operated Lawson stores in Tokyo and will be expanded up to a total of 13 locations in the city by the end of November.

Some 100 products, including food, drinks, snacks and daily necessities will be available for delivery within a 3-kilometer radius of a participating store.

“We expect it to supplement store sales even in times of bad weather, such as rain,” a Lawson representative said.

Uber Eats began business in Japan in September 2016.
