Lukoil signs accord with Komi Republic; to build plant

OAO Lukoil said in February it has signed an accord with the Komi Republic, a region of nearly one million people in northwestern Russia, where both sides will “intend to implement measures designed to develop the fuel and energy complex in the region” among other goals.

OAO Lukoil President Vagit Alekperov visited Komi Republic for the accord as well as for the launching of works on a plant, the report said.

The company also said it is building “a unit for recovery and granulation of sulfur” in the region which Lukoil says will eliminate harmful emissions.
