Madagascar fuel truck drivers that distribute Shell fuels get recognition
Vivo Energy Madagascar, which markets Shell fuels in that country, said in a statement issued May 28 that it decided to reward its best fuel truck drivers as part of an effort to recognize their important and high-risk job of manipulating and transporting fuels.
“The drivers of fuel trucks are the people most exposed to route dangers,” the company explained in its statement to inform about this event to show appreciation to drivers. Truck driver Rasamiarizafy Mamy was chosen as 'Best Driver of 2014' and received a special monetary prize.
Pramoth Domun, general director of Vivo Energy Madagascar, said during the ceremony that the event is part of the efforts made by the company to create a culture of safety.
Vivo Energy Madagascar has 56 service stations and employs 61 people.
Vivo Energy operates in several countries in the African region where it runs in total some 1,500 stations.
