PTT Lubricants launches Thailand’s first API SQ–certified engine oil
The milestone positions Thailand as a rising innovation in the international lubricant market.
PTT Lubricants has become the first Thai manufacturer to secure certification under the new API SQ / ILSAC GF-7A standard, marking a shift in the country’s role within the global lubricants industry.
The company’s latest product is built on its proprietary EVOTEC formulation and is designed to meet tougher international requirements on wear resistance, fuel efficiency and emissions. The new API and ILSAC benchmarks, which align with Euro V regulations, are aimed at improving engine durability while reducing carbon output.
Racha U-Thaichan, Senior Executive Vice President for the lubricants division, said the certification represented “more than a product milestone”, arguing it reflected Asia’s growing capacity to contribute to global standards for cleaner mobility.
PTT Lubricants holds roughly 30% of the Thai market and now exports to more than 40 countries.
