Rolande, bp unveil first co-branded service station
Located in the Netherlands, the new unmanned site will offer customers conventional fuels and LNG to expand the companies’ existing partnership.
Rolande and bp have opened a co-branded filling station in Bodegraven, Netherlands, with a focus on freight traffic. While the former supplies liquefied natural gas (LNG) and bio-LNG fuels, the latter supplies other conventional fuels such as diesel and Adblue.
“LNG is already more sustainable than diesel. With bio-LNG, heavy goods road vehicles can reduce their CO2 emissions by as much as 100 percent when compared to diesel. Bio-LNG therefore makes a substantial contribution to the European Commission’s objective of being climate-neutral by 2050,” said Jolon van der Schuit, CEO of Rolande.
bp’s existing unmanned filling station has been completely renovated and two Rolande LNG dispensers have been added. The new facility symbolises the sustainability drive that is currently underway in the goods transport sector.
“This new filling station is a building block in a Europe-wide LNG network. It is located at an important logistics intersection of the key A12 and N11 routes, and has a strong regional function,” added Van der Schuit.
The new facility builds upon the ongoing partnership between Rolande and bp. Business customers of bp can already use their fuel card at Rolande’s own filling stations and now, for the first time, the cooperation has resulted in a co-branded filling station.
