Samsung Pay launches in Malaysia
Samsung Electronics Co. has launched Samsung Pay in Malaysia, making the mobile payment service available in eleven countries.
Samsung has partnered with Malaysia´s Maybank, Commerce International Merchant Bank, and branches of Standard Chartered Bank and Citibank in the country to offer its mobile payment services.
"We are optimistic to see a strong consumer interest and readiness to adopt mobile payments in Malaysia, with Samsung Pay's security and user-friendly facility," said Lee Jui Siang, Samsung Malaysia Electronics mobile and IT business unit vice-president.
After launching in Malaysia, Samsung Pay is now present in eleven countries across the world including South Korea, China, the United States and Thailand, where it just launched two weeks ago.
