Scheidt & Bachmann showcases new revenue and efficiency potential for forecourt operators at UNITI expo 2026

Scheidt & Bachmann Energy Retail Solutions draws a positive conclusion from UNITI expo 2026. The focus of the exhibition was on how forecourt operators can further develop their business models in an increasingly complex market environment – through more efficient processes, greater automation and new revenue streams.

Under the guiding theme “Connected Energy Retail”, the company, together with partners, presented integrated solutions that simplify operations, connect systems and unlock additional revenue potential.

A particular highlight was the expert talk with BearingPoint partner Nina London, which contextualised current market developments and identified key strategic priorities for operators.

“Current developments are significantly increasing the pressure on forecourt operators: processes must become more efficient, decisions need to be taken faster, and new revenue sources must be developed.

With SIQMA Nova, we provide the foundation for this – a central platform that drives automation and reduces operational complexity. This also applies to shop operations in particular: from payment terminals to automated concepts such as intelligent solutions from our partner twenty4U through to smart self-checkout solutions.

At the same time, we see great potential in retail media. Those who intelligently connect touchpoints such as pricing, shelves and digital receipts can engage customers in a targeted way and generate additional revenue.

Our goal is to enable operators to achieve exactly this combination of efficiency and growth.” – Jörg Heilingbrunner, CEO Scheidt & Bachmann Energy Retail Solutions.

SIQMA Nova as a central management platform

At the heart of the exhibition was the cloud-based SIQMA Nova platform as the central management system for forecourt operations. It enables seamless integration of POS, head office systems and digital services.

Operators benefit from:

  • Central control of pricing, assortment and processes
  • Reduced manual effort through automation
  • Fast adaptation to market changes thanks to a flexible system architecture

This makes SIQMA Nova the foundation for scalable and future-proof operations.

Retail media as an integrated revenue driver

A key cross-functional topic was retail media as an additional source of revenue in the forecourt environment. The concept: strategically use existing touchpoints along the customer journey for communication and monetisation.

Specific use cases demonstrated how retail media can be integrated into existing processes:

  • Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL) and dynamic pricing

→ flexible price management combined with use as digital advertising space

  • Digital receipts (e-receipts)

→ a direct communication channel to the end customer

  • Centralised control via SIQMA Nova

→ consistent content distribution across all touchpoints

This creates an integrated system that engages customers more effectively and generates additional revenue.

Automation as a key lever for efficiency

In addition to new business models, there was a clear focus on operational automation, particularly in the checkout area:

Payment terminals for fast, staff-independent transactions

Automated shop concepts in collaboration with partners such as twenty4U

Dual-use self-checkout solutions for flexible use in both attended and unattended operations

These concepts help operators reduce operating costs, address staffing shortages and enhance customer convenience at the same time.

Strong demand for practical solutions

Workshops, live demonstrations and the expert talk were very well received. Above all, there was strong demand for practical solutions that can be implemented directly in day-to-day operations.

The discussions clearly show that operators are increasingly looking for integrated systems that improve efficiency and unlock new revenue streams – rather than isolated standalone solutions.
