Sheetz to broaden Midwest reach with new Ohio distribution center
The $145 million facility is expected to create 700 jobs in the region over the next five years.
Sheetz is planning to build a new $145 million distribution center in Findlay, Ohio, to expand operations across the Midwest area. As one of Pennsylvania's largest employers, the project is expected to create 700 new jobs over five years.
As reported by The Times, the retailer will establish its new facility to support its growth plans, as it comes near the 700 store mark across six states. The Altoona-based company was founded in 1952 and has announced over 20 stores to be opened in western Pennsylvania for the next five years.
Christina Muryn, Mayor of Findlay, stated that the company worked closely with local and state economic development organizations during its planning stages. Mike DeWine, Governor of Ohio, also complimented the chain’s strategy to establish a new distribution center in a city of 40,000 citizens, saying that the project will “improve efficiencies for the company both here at home and throughout the Midwest.”
Other Sheetz distribution facilities are located in Claysburg, Blair County and Burlington, North Carolina.
