Sheetz to invest $1 billion in Indiana with 100-store expansion
The first Indiana stores will open in the greater Indianapolis area in 2027.
Pennsylvania-based convenience store chain Sheetz has announced plans to open 100 locations across Indiana over the next decade, marking one of the most significant entries into a new US state market in the company's history, reported 14news.
The expansion represents close to $1 billion in investment and is expected to create more than 3,000 jobs across the state. To mark the announcement, Sheetz made a $25,000 donation to Special Olympics Indiana.
The first Indiana stores will open in the greater Indianapolis area in 2027, with specific locations and opening dates to be confirmed as the development process advances.
"Over the past several years, we have received a significant number of inquiries from Indiana residents who want to see Sheetz in their communities," said Travis Sheetz, President and CEO. "This momentum has been reinforced by the enthusiastic response to our unique offerings in new Midwest markets."
Sheetz currently operates 826 stores across the United States, with Pennsylvania accounting for roughly 38% of its total footprint.
