SPAR opens first Barista Bar Coffee Drive-Thru in Ireland
After a 6-month renovation process, the brand unveiled its new addition to its retail model that lets customers pick up their meals on the go without leaving the car.
Spar Ireland has unveiled its most recent renovated store in Mallusk after a six month process. In addition to a major construction overhaul of the site, the brand launched its first ever Barista Bar Coffee Drive-Thru in the store, creating 28 jobs and offering customers the option to pick up breakfast, lunch or dinner on the go.
The outlet will house three Barista Bar machines, one of which includes a plant-based option to provide non-dairy options for consumers. This new addition creates a food to go offering that includes the retailer’s newest food to go brand, Delish, complemented by the bar drive-thru and a Subway counter.
“Every part of the store has been considered and built for differing shopper demands. Barista Bar, created by Henderson Group’s foodservice business, Henderson Foodservice, has seen exceptional growth in the past couple of years. The popular coffee brand has gained an even greater presence in our Spar, EuroSpar and ViVO branded stores and now we are delighted to introduce the first drive-thru concept for the brand in Northern Ireland,” said Mark McCammond, Retail Director at Henderson Group.
The community focused store also provides additional parking, with 80 parking spaces and a 4-pump MAXOL forecourt on site, while in-store, additional services include a full-service Post Office and three self-checkouts for greater efficiency at peak times within the store.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner from Delish and Barista Bar in-store can also be ordered online via the Spar Savvy Shopper App and collected at store, a real plus for time pressed consumers.
