St1 completes rebranding of Nordic fuel station network
The transition marks the end of Shell-branded sites in Finland, Sweden and Norway.
Energy company St1 has completed a major overhaul of its station network, consolidating operations under the St1 brand across Finland, Sweden and Norway. The transition marks the end of Shell-branded sites in the region, with more than 630 stations rebranded as St1.
In Finland alone, over 170 Shell stations have been converted, bringing the national total to around 470 St1 sites. Across the Nordics, the network now comprises approximately 1,250 stations.
The rebranding, which began in April and concluded in November, aims to unify services and strengthen customer experience. St1 has also expanded its EV charging infrastructure and biogas distribution for heavy transport. Fast-charging facilities are now available at 42 sites in Finland, including 10 new locations this year, and at 170 stations across the Nordics. The company has opened its first EV-focused hubs in Ylöjärvi and Oslo, featuring 400kW chargers alongside retail and café services.
In addition, St1 is scaling up liquefied biogas (LBG) availability, with seven Finnish stations and 13 Nordic sites offering the fuel by year-end. The goal is to reach more than 50 LBG stations by 2028.
The unified network supports St1’s broader energy transition strategy, which includes producing renewable fuels such as sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), biogas and renewable diesel.
