Tesla plans to make charging more entertaining
Tesla plans to convert its charging stations into more “entertaining” service stations.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed about the plans recently in a Tweet: “Gonna put an old school drive-in, roller skates & rock restaurant at one of the new Tesla Supercharger locations in LA.”
Like a real entertainment center, he added that the charging stations would have: "an outdoor screen that plays a highlight reel of the best scenes in movie history."
This follows what JB Straubel, Tesla’s chief technology officer, disclosed last September of adding restaurants to its charging facilities. While waiting for their Tesla cars to be fully charged, customers may drink coffee, grab a bite, or use the bathroom.
According to Inc magazine, the concept is similar to John Benda’s Fuel City, a petrol station equipped with a convenience store, car wash, restaurants, miniature ranch, swimming pool, and karaoke.
