Dubai’s Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) is reactivating its petrol station operations in one of the country’s seven emirates, Sharjah, after seven years.

ENOC plans to open five petrol stations equipped with the latest technology in Sharjah over the next five years. The return to business in the emirate comes after ENOC closed its Sharjah station for maintenance in June 2011 and failed to comply with government instructions to reopen.

An order from the Sharjah Executive Council left the sites permanently closed, reports Gulf Business.

Now that ENOC has received the green light to reopen stations in Sharjah, they plan to roll out 25 over the next five years.
