US: Kwik Trip to acquire rival PDQ Food Stores
La, Crosse, Wisconsin-based convenience store chain Kwik Trip has agreed to acquire Middleton, Wisconsin-based PDQ Food Stores, reports csnews.com.
The acquisition of 34 convenience stores owned by PDQ further contributes to Kwik Trip's retail growth and is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs.
Kwik Trip will invest $30 million to $40 million to remodel PDQ stores. Until rebranding is completed, set in mid-2018, PDQ stores will continue to operate under existing banner.
The transaction is expected to close in early October, subject to approval by PDQ employees and other customary closing conditions.
